Last night was the big event we’ve been working toward for a while now…the movie premiere of Wildflower…
It was such a fun night.
I don’t have all the pictures in yet, but will give you a little sneak peek at a couple shots…
The theater…I have a few stories…might have to save some of them to not bombard you all at once…but oh, some good stories.
It was not without hitches, but I guess that is to be expected. As I was driving over to Minneapolis around 4:45 for the 6:30 event, I got a call that someone had driven by and the marquee said, “Wildfire” instead of “Wildflower”…just little things like that to add to the EXCITEMENT.
They’d also mentioned a red carpet and we said, sure, that would be kinda fun. So while the guests were lining up outside to get in, they slapped that 7 foot red carpet out and began duct-taping it to the ground…and vacuuming.
You read that right, the red carpet was all of 7 feet long, if that…
If you have seen the trailer or any part of the movie, you just know how fitting this is for the whole affair.
Here we are with Jonathan, my partner in crime, on that very carpet…
We were blessed with the most beautiful day~ the temperature was a perfect 74 degrees. The auditorium filled up (I think we had 2 open seats~ it was full!) and everyone was so kind and excited. I was thrilled and humbled that so many people came. It was wonderful.
Everyone laughed in all the right places…whew. We got great feedback.
There are still things that need to be fixed and I’ll probably feel that way forever, but…will get back to it in another month when Jonathan is in town again.
I’m so grateful for all my friends who agreed to do this, both the ones on screen and the ones off, because it affected all of them. 🙂 They’re so sweet to go along with whatever scheme I’m cooking at the time and I appreciate that so much. We have such fun in the process!
And my family…they’re good to put up with me too.
Courtney came over and did our hair in the afternoon~ wish you could see the back of mine~ it was pretty. She did Greyley’s hair too and when we got home and were getting ready for bed, Greyley said, “I’m afraid my hair is gonna stab me in my sleep.”
I know two girls who are gonna have to wash some hairspray out today…
