Guess what? I think Spring might be coming. While it hasn’t shown any definitive signs around here, I am hopeful that we are on the up and up.
OK, it snowed…twice this week…maybe three times…quite a bit…BUT, it has also melted some. Instead of 5 feet of snow piled outside my kitchen door, I think there might only be 3 feet. That’s a start, right?
Another sign is that I’m being awakened in the middle of the night by either an owl or pigeons or doves…I never was really sure of what sounds like what. I’m leaning toward an obnoxious owl. The other night he hooted for a solid hour and then when he was sure I was fully awake, he quit. Nada. Not another peep.
BUT…Birds + The North = SPRING!
There’s also been a smattering of 40˚ days here and there…which also means you start seeing people jogging in shorts…
That never ceases to amaze and amuse.
Northerners are a Very Hardy People.
Do you know the difference between hardy and hearty?
Hardy means capable of withstanding difficult conditions.
Hearty means friendly or enthusiastic; nourishing.
Therefore, Northerners are hardy and Wild Rice Soup is hearty….
But, I digress…
Spring…
The days are getting a bit longer. There’s no way we can know if there are buds coming up~ the piles of snow are still too high, but there’s probably greenness under there, don’tcha think? Sinuses, colds, flus are running rampant, but that’s because there’s a change of seasons coming just around the bend…
Right?
I mean, Winter can’t last FOREVER…can it?
No, please, don’t answer that.
I’d like to dub this next phase, Sprinter. Come on, if we coax you all nice-like, Sprinter, won’t you come and save us? Deliver us from the cold and snow and bring us warm, sweet sunshine…Spring…
The Real Deal.
Relief.
Joy of new beginnings and LIFE!
Please, with a cherry on top…
Amen.
