It was a never-to-be-forgotten birthday…and it’s still not over. We like to drag out the festivities around here.
My girl only turns 13 once and we decided to live it up. I cooked exactly what she asked for:
Chocolate Strawberry Tart
Oh, how I love her.
Yes, that’s an apron I’m wearing. And yes, I still managed to get chocolate on my silky dress.
Cheeseburger Soup
May she never be too old to cheese it up for me. 😉
And take a look at the pretty dishes I happened upon at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago…I heart TJ Maxx’s home section!
(I’m so easily distracted by pretty dishes!)
Her brother could not CONTAIN his excitement.
He was VERY proud of keeping the surprise~ the GIFT~ a secret. We were all very proud. It’s extremely hard for a 6-year-old to keep a secret.
Opening her necklace…
I had so much fun making this one, I might just be onto something new: Girls Rock
But the Big Surprise of the night was this:
It’s a beauty~ black with sparkles! Better yet~ it sounds good! Her sweet daddy played every single one in the store to find just the right one.
She is beyond excited. She didn’t dream she would have her own guitar yet. She’s been wanting one for a long time. She’s sounding good already…she has the best teacher in the world.
Her brother was incredibly supportive, especially since he’s been wanting a guitar for a long time too. For now, though, he will be getting by with his “McPherson.” 🙂 (It’s not really, it’s just what he calls his little stickered, beat-up guitar.)
I predict a lot of good music coming out of these three!
