Sitting outside Panera Bread trying to get this post up…many technical difficulties at our hotel. I think I might be a little too obsessed with this blog. You think?
I have had the best week. It began last Thursday when I got up at an ungodly hour and flew to Dallas. I had a brief layover in Memphis and when I got there, I met up with Brenda from Reflective Hearts.
We had never met in PERSON, but have been the dearest of friends through email, Skype and phone calls, since her brother, Allen, introduced us. Allen is one of my best friends…we go way back through Nate…and he’s one of my favorite people to be around. Definitely Top Category Of Favorites.
It felt like Brenda and I had known each other forever. We had no trouble communicating, that is FOR SURE. The whole trip we barely took a breath for talking.
Once we got to Dallas, we went straight to Sam Moon. For those of you who have been there, you know exactly why. It’s just what you have to do. It’s the greatest. If you haven’t been there, make a way. You Must Go.
After getting our shop out, then we were able to meet up with Allen. I think I forgot to mention that Brenda lives in West Virginia. Allen lives in Dallas. It felt like The Three Amigos doing Dallas.
It was a whirlwind of funness. I know, it’s not a word, but I like it.
Friday afternoon we drove to Austin, where I met some lovely new people…Denise & Chad. Allen has been telling me about them forever and it was so great to finally meet them. I wish I could live closer to Denise, we would be big buds, I know…
Their home was gorgeous, with views of Lake Austin from every room. The shower alone was a spiritual experience. We shopped and found FABULOUS TREASURES. We went swimming in the beautiful pool that overlooked the lake. Denise made delicious skewers with Italian sausage, mushrooms, chicken, pineapple…Mmmmm.
Brenda and a tiny bit of the lake
Saturday, we left Austin and went back to Dallas where we met some friends. I FINALLY got to meet my dear friend, Savita, in person. She is a lovely woman, through and through. It’s been years that I have wanted to meet her. She was just as wonderful as I expected.
Savita & Brenda
I was able to hear a local band that I love~ Mars Hill…so good. I want to hear them every time I’m in Dallas.
Saw my dear friends, Mark & Lori…sadly, I didn’t get their picture! What the world?! But it was so fun to have lunch together. Always such a treat to be with them.
Spent time with Allen’s kids…they’re awesome. And super cute. See for yourself…

Justin and This Girly
Laughed my head off. Cried a little. Laughed a whole lot more. Ate out every meal~ cool. Sadly said good-bye. Hate that. Wonderful trip.
Thanks to everyone who made it so.
Flew to Arkansas on Wednesday. Drove to Lee’s Summit yesterday…and here we are in KC today. Nate and the kids met me and my parents here this afternoon and it was a great reunion.
Two other highlights:
Wednesday was my grandma’s 82nd birthday and I got to be with her.
And after at least SIXTEEN years, I got to see my forever friend, Cylinda…from Because Life is Like a Bowl of Marbles! I love her dearly. We used to live across the hall from each other at Bible School. Many, M
ANY good times with her…
Cylinda and My Sleepy Self
So there’s just a small taste of my trip. It was exceptional.
We’ll be heading home tomorrow.
