It’s been a fun weekend. I had a few plans~ some of them have happened already, some are still to come…but this was my itinerary, if you will. Every flight attendant has an itinerary, right? Yes, I’m still on that kick.
Orange County Itinerary
See Nate…he came to CA a couple days ahead of me. (Check. We’ve had a nice mini-vacay.)
See our dear friend, Jeanette Thulin, who has been in Sweden for an extended period of time. She will be singing with us this weekend~ check out her myspace page. (Check. It’s been so fun to hang out with her!)
You already know this, but it bears repeating…have CHOCOLATE MALTED CRUNCH!!!!! (Check. Nate picked me up from the airport and after lunch he took me straight to Rite Aid. It was worth every frequent flyer mile.)
Rehearsals with musicians and singers for Sunday services… (Check. I missed the main rehearsal. Will be rehearsing bright and early Sunday 7 AM.)
Learn some new jewelry techniques from my friend, Donna, who has taken me under her creative wing and wants to teach me everything she knows. I love people like that. Donna is also a nurse and was instrumental in getting me BACK to the doctor over the summer~ she knew I had Lyme Disease, even though my doctor had originally said I didn’t. (Check. I learned some great wrapping techniques. Donna gave me a lovely piece she’d made just for me. And I got to see her gorgeous condo. AND more free medical advice. A win/win situation for sure!)
See some of my longtime best friends, Stephanie and Vanessa…otherwise known as Bucko and Bucket…in Newport Beach! Trying to twist Katie’s arm to come over too…hopefully you saw that Facebook message ☺…come on, Katie! (Check. Had a wonderful time with lots of laughs, as always. All except the Katie part…Katie, I need your number! Next time, you and me, girl.)
Play good (maybe even great) music and have a wonderful time of worship~ 2 services on Sunday morning at Life Church. (TBA)
Eat, eat, eat…In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco are for sure musts. Oh! And Sharky’s guacamole…absolutely. Maybe even some Rockin’ Riptide Sushi. It’s really called that. (Mini-check. So far have covered Sharky’s…and oh my word, we ROCKED Rockin’ Riptide. Ate sushi and teppan until I was full to the gills and had gone in not even hungry. In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco~ got to get busy on that!)
Find a treasure for the kiddos. Originally, they were going to come with us and it didn’t work out, so they are going to want a major prize. I’ve had to instruct Indigo that the first thing he says when we get in CANNOT be, “What did you bring me?” Oh, to be four again and it to still be halfway cute even when being rude…for about a second and then I’m over it. (Not even close to a check…haven’t even started to work on this one yet. Greyley will be getting something extra special. She spent Friday night and Saturday with a stomach flu. It’s an awful feeling to be away while my baby girl’s sick. Nama also deserves something extra special for being there with her…)
A little movie/reading/restful time…while I miss the kids, I know these times away from them are opportunities to recharge, so I intend to do just that. (Almost a complete Check. There was a movie on the plane~ Grey Gardens, an interesting and unusual film. And once here, I was able to kill two bird with one stone when watching a movie…it led into restful/snoozing time since I can’t seem to watch a movie anymore without falling asleep. Haven’t read a thing, YET.)
Hop back on the plane Monday afternoon and start a new week. (TBA)
