No happy pictures today. If I were to show you what we have looked like for most of Tuesday and all of yesterday, I would scare you off and you would never, EVER come back.
Oh, the sick.
Oh, the tears.
Oh, the nebs.
Oh, the snot, the coughing.
Oh, the vomit.
Oh, how I hate that word, vomit…and any other words with that meaning…barf, puke, upchuck..
Indie and I have the snotty, coughy thing.
Greyley has the stomach bug.
We all have a case of the grouchies.
Send prayers up, por favor.
And while you’re sending prayers up, pray that if you were at my house on Monday OR Tuesday, the Lord will have favor on you and not bestow upon you this grossness. I did try to give warning about the runny noses, but did not see the stomach flu coming. I am so sorry.
Today will be better…it has to be.
That’s not to say there weren’t some GOOD things that happened over the last couple days…
Oh, the hugs, the cuddles.
Oh, the sweet smiles every now and then.
Oh, the laying around on the couch.
Oh…the…oh! It was Tosha’s birthday yesterday! That was good…although, I couldn’t go over to her house to hang out like I’d wanted to…OR to dinner…but we have promised to prolong the birthday celebrating, so this will still happen.
And my friend over at BWildered had her baby yesterday!!! That was something really good.
Oh! And here’s a super-duper good thing…Greyley’s off school for the next 5 days. Yippee. I’m praying she will wake up this morning feeling a thousand times better than last night. She will be so bummed if she’s sick on her off days…I’m rejoicing right now that she slept through the night. Whew. Now if we can keep even a teaspoon of water down her today it will be a huge improvement.
Oh! And there is one other good thing that happened over the last couple days…since I haven’t been feeling well, I warded off those extra pounds that threatened to creep up from going on a cooking spree the last couple of weeks. All the batches of muffins, cake, pumpkin pies, lasagna, nachos, tacos, homemade hot chocolate…
What?! There’s something about winter, lack of sun, and FEBRUARY that makes me want to bake and then eat…a lot! This is the month I need to go to Cancun, what can I say?!
So I guess things have a way of working out. However. I’d ALWAYS rather be sick than my kids to be sick…so don’t forget those prayers. Pretty please.
***I might have been under the influence of Tylenol Nighttime Cold and Sinus when I wrote this…I might have nodded off, oh, a dozen times or so…if some of it doesn’t make sense, that might be why…I’ll stop saying might now and go back to sleep.***
