It was an awesome weekend. I just can’t get over what a wonderful Spring this is! It’s been magnificent.
I was blessed to have lots of time with friends this weekend, which is always fun. Saturday was one of the funnest days I’ve had in a long time. My dear friends and I~ Jill (Spoils of Wear), Elaina (Je ‘Suis) and Nadine (soon to be blogger, you’ve seen her adorable creations on here~ Indigo’s Easter outfit, tunics at Burning Sage, etc.)~ all met up and went to Minneapolis together for a Trunk Show at I Like You…basically everything I dream of in a store. I had never been there before and it was delightful.
But first…a little stop at Finnish Bistro…you need to hop on over to Jill’s blog sometime today or tomorrow…I bet she’ll have the pics of our food. It was so pretty and tasty…and HUGE portions. I thought I took pics of the food, but alas, it must have been Jilliebeanie’s camera. If you live in the Twin Cities, you must visit this little gem of a place.
Nadine said we had to document my freshly manicured nails so she took this picture. I think she has a nice artistic touch, don’t you? (Thanks, Court, for the birthday polish and for the manicure! She did my nails on Friday night, another whole fun night in itself.)
Love that color. It dries really fast, too. Gotta love Sally Hansen’s Insta-dry.
I didn’t get any pics of us in I Like You…oh, I get dreamy just thinking of that store. Did I mention that it’s all local artisans? You know I have a passion for that sort of thing. Hello, Funky Barn. Hello, Burning Sage Galleries.
Anyhooooo, after we had our fill (can you really ever get enough, I think not) of the store, we hit a Textile “garage sale.” I’m not sure what the store is like on a regular basis, but I think it just might be the sewing mecca. Not sure, but maybe.
Girls?
Hello, Lovelies.
I don’t know about you, but I hear theme music when I see this picture. I know this doesn’t exactly fit, but I’m hearing “Mission Impossible” for some reason. Dundun, dundun, dundun, dundun, dundun, dundundun…
The line was out the door and around the corner. We paid $1 to get in and once you were inside the madhouse, you could fill a bag with all the material your grubby hands could grub, uh, grab…for $1 per bag. It was AWESOME!!! Jill and I aren’t the sewers of the group, but we still managed to find our share of GOODS…but Elaina and Nadine, wow! They got some unbelievable things. Jill and Nadine hauled a huge box out and Elaina and I hauled out the other. It was a scene. We were wishing we could take a picture of THAT, but were too busy trying not to drop the humongous, overstuffed boxes.
After that all that hard work, we needed a little more nourishment. We’re all hearty eaters, this group. I love that in a woman. Or a man, for that matter. I do love me some eaters. But that’s getting off the subject just a mite. We went to Nina’s, one of my favorite coffeehouses in town…
And had a heyday holding out my long arm and shooting. My favorite is this blurry one…doggone.
But this is fun too…
Thank the Lord for long arms and good friends.
Ooo, the timer works too!
Thank the Lord for smart friends, long arms and timers, delightful stores, handcrafted things, quality materials for CHEAP and lots of coffee, fruit crepes and creamy garlic tomato soup, and laughter…oh! and twirly skirts~ you can’t tell it, but my skirt is THE best twirly skirt EVER…long run-on sentences, and maybe I didn’t say it enough…friends.
Amen.
