It’s been a musical week. Sometimes I forget that it is technically sorta what I kind of DO.
I know. Every now and a lot, I make NO sense.
Spent some time in my brother’s neighbor’s studio yesterday and recorded organ and vocals. It was fun. My brother works hard on his music and it’s fun to see him starting to get more and more rewards from that. We’re a funny combination. Opposite, yet alike. Really, in every area, you could say that about us…from our looks to our musical tastes to our habits…there is so much that is different and so much that is similar.
I guess that is what makes a brother and sister.
We can have common ground even if we were nothing alike whatsoever…but it is fun when we do something similar, even after years of not being around each other…and then we look at each other like, “Oh yeah, we are related…” It’s usually something like laughing at the same dorky thing that not everyone would think is funny…
I might have had had just a little too much caffeine during the day…which made me, shall we say, a little extra Hoppity Hopped-Up. It bode for a rather, shall we say, LONG night. I say that as I sip my morning Peet’s. OH! Did I tell you?! They’re SELLING PEET’S AT MY GROCERY STORE NOW!!! I tell you, that is about the best news I’ve had all year.
Back to regular programming…
Had a rehearsal after my brother’s session, in which the children ran like crazy people, but that is not what this post is about…I’m not sure, what IS this post about?~ the ABC Youth Choir is playing at the Mall of America tonight. 5 PM in the main rotunda~ now called the Best Buy Rotunda…all Christmas music. We do this concert every year and it is always fun.
Tomorrow night we’re singing in the Holidazzle. For those of you non-Minnesotans, the Holidazzle is a parade and we don choir robes, put lit stars around our necks (large stars!) and sing on a float. There have been many years that I have wanted to weep because it is so cold and other years when it was quite enjoyable. I told Nate this year that the Holidazzle might be the one thing that I am too old for in life…can I pull age rank out on this one, but not for anything else? I’m not sure…but if it’s anything below 20 degrees, I think I just might. However, if YOU want something fun to do, you should go see the Holidazzle parade tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:30 PM.
Have a wonderful weekend, folks. I think more snow might be coming to my neck of the woods. Stay safe out there on those crazy roads. And for all you others out there across the country, fussing about weather in the 50’s and 60’s…hush. Seriously. Just hush.
