I got a little spirit of Spring Cleaning on me yesterday.
I don’t know about you, but whenever I feel the URGE to clean, I go with it…because I know it might be a while before I actually DESIRE to do a heavy cleaning.
Oh yes, I clean on a semi-frequent basis, but I usually never do it because it’s my desire…it’s usually because someone is coming over in about 29 minutes and 33 seconds and I know that I’d rather them not see the dust that is accumulating on the piano and under the couch and on the bookshelves…and the wood on the blue chairs…and the TV…and the…well…you catch my drift.
It’s a good thing we have a lot of company.
The other day there was a Very Tall Man in my kitchen. It was all fine and good until he stood by my refrigerator and I realized with horror that he would be able to see the top of my refrigerator if he should be so inclined.
I wanted to holler, “DO NOT look at the top of my refrigerator!”
But I knew it would be one of those things that when you say something like, DON’T LOOK AT MY DECK!, of COURSE, the person looks at that very thing. (This actually happened to me and then I decided since a handful had looked~ after me saying, DON’T LOOK AT MY DECK!~ then I may as well share it with the whole lot of you.)
It’s human nature. We can’t NOT look.
So I held my breath until he got past the refrigerator. Whew. Hopefully the dust bunnies aren’t indelibly printed in his brain now…you know, if he sneaked a peek when I wasn’t looking…
Indigo’s room got the blessing yesterday. He’s been pretty sick and I decided to go all Mama Bear on his room. Germs: Stay BACK! Get OUT! DePART!
I worked until I wheezed. That seems to be my criterion for work these days. Work ‘Til Ya Wheeze. Doesn’t take much, so it keeps working to a minimum…which could be a blessing, depending on how you look at it.
*Someday I’ll talk about asthma on here. I hate it with a passion. Loathe. It.
Right now I choose to talk about happier things. Like CLEANING.
I’m hoping the spirit falls again today. There are a few other things that could still stand to be done…
