My faith in God is what gives me any hope at all in this world. If I didn’t have a relationship with him, I feel like I would have no hope at all. It’s never too late to find him. In fact, even if you get lost all along the way and think you can’t find him…you can always just say his name and he’ll be there.
Jesus…
I’m grateful for parents who instilled in me a love for the Lord. As far back as I can remember, I remember talking to Jesus and thinking about the day I’d see him face to face. I actually thought it would have already happened by now. I didn’t think I’d grow to be this old. Really, I didn’t.
I talked about going to heaven to the point that it scared my parents. I just never felt I belonged here and being with God felt like the place I needed to be.
Along the way, I got a little more comfortable around here. I’m a little torn about this…I believe we’re supposed to live fulfilled lives serving God and others, but I also believe he desires for us to crave going home. As in, up there…to that place he’s preparing for us.
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
And I do crave that place.
But even if there WASN’T a heaven…I believe there is…but even if there wasn’t…I still would rather live one second of this life with him than a thousand years without him. He’s been that good to me.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
There’s no greater love than that. He loves us.
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Happy Good Friday!
