Y’all should be glad I’ve given up watching TV. Oh, you didn’t know I had? Well, I sorta did a few years ago. It was because I wanted to read more. It definitely helped. A lot. But then I got hooked on the internet, so I’m not sure anything actually improved in the long run.
I used to record everything. And then have marathon late nighters or Saturdays of catching up. Then I stopped watching my shows, but Nate kept recording. We got DVR and I gave up TV. That wasn’t very good timing on my part.
Here’s the deal, when I watch something, I want to be able to REALLY watch it…and with kids, it’s just not meant to be. Either they are talking and running and jumping and wanting attention or just being LOUD…or they want to watch what THEY want to watch.
I should clarify the first paragraph…I didn’t give up TV. Anything worth watching has just been taken over by the Disney Channel and Nick, Jr. I wish I didn’t know all those episodes…of every show…by heart…
However, when the rare occasion comes around that I do sit down to watch a show, I get SUCKED in.
So be glad, be very glad.
Otherwise, you’d be hearing about Kristen and Justin and Audrina and Lo. And that wretched Spencer and annoying Heidi. You’d hear things like, “Justin should BATHE…” and “I wish Kristen would wear her hair down once in a while.” Or, “That catfight was ridiculous…” “I can’t bear to hear Spencer speak…” “What does she see in him?” And “Brody has my dream eyelashes.”
Yes, I got sucked in…to The Hills, people. The Hills!!!
What in the world? This is what I pick? It just happened. I didn’t mean for it to happen. It just did.
And now I want to backtrack and see all of them. From the very beginning. It doesn’t help that I’ve spent a lot of time in Laguna Beach this past year.
American Idol, save me!
